A selection of tracks, mostly taken from the 70's, recreating the atmosphere of my usual weekends. For simultaneous use with one or preferably more partners, or simply for personal arousal. Listen with caution: I shall not be held responsible for any heart attack caused by the excess of sighing, heaving, moaning and whimpering contained in this recording. Thank you.
Some tracks sound great, but sometimes, there's something that prevents them from being just right for the dancefloor. Here are re-edits of songs by Prince, The Bar-Kays, Mick Smiley and Mamba Percussions aiming to please clubgoers worldwide. Get down !
From long drinks to slow dancing, from slow dancing to foreplay, from foreplay to coitus, from coitus to orgasmic transcendental bliss, from orgasmic transcendental bliss to post-coitus: Yes, at long last, you may now spend 5 hours in bed with Topher. Almost as amazing as the real thing (but to be honest: not really). All reports of sexual success are welcome. All failures are your fault and your fault only. Enjoy, embrace, relax, let go, and if you're a woman, please let me have your number... you never know how lucky you could get...
A 23-minute soundscape recreating a graffiti artist's journey across Brooklyn to find spots he can "bomb" with his spray can. Contains a sample from "Art Of Drums (Rap Version)" performed by Mac Attack.
This piece was commissioned as ambience for an exhibit dedicated to urban culture called "Urban-Inside" taking place at Le Module in Saint-Laurent Du Var, France from September 25th until December 31st, 2010.
Audio collage meant to reflect David Guetta's arrogance and lack of music education. Out soon on CD along with 18 remixes from other artists from the south of France to protest against the outrageous town hall subsidies spent on his coming to Nice (think six figures) when the city grants only a tiny fraction of that ludicrous amount to local music associations over the whole year.
Hula's "Hot Hands" is a 1988 acid house classic that I thought I'd glitch up AFX style (in reference to his 2001 "2 Remixes by AFX" E.P.). Massive respect to both of them ! My source vinyl sounded a bit worn out so you may need to re-EQ your mixing desk when playing the track. Enjoy !
Recreation of a "Rock Me Amadeus" remix that I used to hear on the radio and once taped on cassette as a teen but never managed to find on record despite searching it for years. To me, this is by far the best radio edit of the Salieri version. I also enhanced the overall sound which desperately needed it. As you can hear, this classic can still pack a nice punch ! :)
Medley commissioned for the Cannes Starlettes pageant @ Cannes Film Festival and played on the Cannes beach on May 19th 2008. (Soundtracks using female vocals and various film dialogues involving women)
Live @ Sunshine Sundays: The Butterfly Ball @ The Pro Cathedral, Bristol, UK - 9 Dec. 2007. Koru-Foru Fashion show curated by Gemma Thorogood & Viva Cazeaux. Live improvisation on "Yggsdrasil" by Rhythm Of Space. (ethnic, ambient, downtempo, hip hop, glitch)
Vocals & Shruti Box: Juan Gabriel Gutiérrez - Spoken Word Intro & Didgeridoo: Markus Neall - Beats & FX: Topher
An absurd cultural mash-up bonanza mangled in breakbeat crossovers spawning shameless copyright infringements galore !
First 30mn recorded on October 19th, 2005 + Last 15mn on May 17th, 2006. Both recorded live in Nice, France.
